Case: Command Oil Spill, CA

The Trustees are undertaking restoration projects to restore injuries to natural resources harmed by the M/T Command oil spill. With public input, the Trustees developed the Command Oil Spill Final Restoration Plan and Environmental Assessment.

Public Involvement Activities to Date

  • January 29, 2004. Public meeting at the Ocean Shore Train Depot, Higgins-Purissima Road, Half Moon Bay.
  • December 3, 2003 through February 11, 2004. Public comment period for draft restoration plan and environmental assessment.
  • August 2, 2002. Notice of Intent to Conduct Restoration Planning, 67 Federal Register 50454.
  • June 6, 2002. End of public comment period on scoping document.
  • May 21, 2002. Meeting presentation materials.
  • May 7, 2002. Press release.
  • May 1, 2002. Public scoping document for restoration planning.
