Restoration Activities
Case: American Trader, CA

The American Trader Trustee Council is an interagency group tasked with restoring marine birds injured by the American Trader oil spill. The council administers the settlement funds and implements restoration activities under the restoration plan.

Restoration Plan

  • The final plan became effective April 2001.

    The citation for the final plan should read:

    American Trader Trustee Council. 2001. Final restoration plan and environmental assessment for seabirds injured by the American Trader oil spill. Report of the American Trader Natural Resource Trustee Council, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), California Department of Fish and Game, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

  • The public comment period on the draft plan ended July 27, 2000. The trustees provided a general overview of the draft plan, accepted both oral and written comments, and solicited project proposals at a public meeting on the draft restoration plan on June 29, 2000, in Huntington Beach, California.
