The American Trader Trustee Council is an interagency group tasked with restoring marine birds injured by the American Trader oil spill. The council administers the settlement funds and implements restoration activities under the restoration plan. Restoration Plan The final plan became effective April 2001. The public comment period on the draft plan ended July 27, 2000. The trustees provided a general overview of the draft plan, accepted both oral and written comments, and solicited project proposals at a public meeting on the draft restoration plan on June 29, 2000, in Huntington Beach, California.
