Restoration Activities
Case: Albemarle Sound/Weyerhaeuser, NC

The Trustees have conducted a preliminary analysis of restoration opportunities and have determined that there are feasible restoration options in and/or nearby the assessment area. The Trustees and Weyerhaeuser are working toward an agreement to cooperatively develop a draft natural resource damage assessment and restoration plan. This plan will describe the potential resource injuries and service losses resulting from site contamination and the types of restoration projects identified and evaluated to address them. After public review and comment, the Trustees will select appropriate restoration projects to be funded by Weyerhaeuser.
