The Natural Resource Trustees have scheduled no public meetings, workshops, or
public comment periods at this time.
The settlement with King County and the City of Seattle established a Panel of
Managers to implement restoration. The Panel for the Elliott Bay/Duwamish River
Restoration Program meets approximately four times each year. These meetings
are open to the public. Please contact John Kern, Panel Administrative
Director, Phone: 206-526-6029, to learn more about the Panel and get
information about Panel meetings.
The Natural Resource Trustees formed a Trustee Council to implement restoration
with funds from the settlement with Pacific Sound Resources. Restoration from
future NRDA settlements with other potentially responsible parties will also be
administered by the Trustee Council. The Trustee Council is planning to develop
a Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS) for NRDA restoration in
the Duwamish. There will be opportunities for public input as part of the
process of developing the PEIS.
Contact U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) at 1-800-424-4EPA or at EPA's
Region 10 web site to learn more about the EPA's remedial process and its
public participation activities, including forming a Community Advisory Group,
public meetings, and other public input activities for the Elliott Bay/Duwamish
River.
