The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) issued a public notice on May 9, 2002, announcing the opportunity for the public to comment on the proposed plan to restore shellfish lost as a result of the oil spill. The Draft Shellfish Restoration Plan contained instructions for submitting written comments. The public comment period on this plan ended on May 24, 2002.
