The Trustees hope to dramatically improve the envrionment of the St. Lawrence River watershed by --

• Reducing contaminant levels
• Removing fish consumption bans
• Improving water quality
• Improving riparian, river and wetland habitat
• Improving fish, bird, mammal, amphibian, and reptile habitat
• Enhancing recreational activities
• Improving and enhancing cultural resources

Restoration Projects during 2006 included two projects sponsored by the St . Lawrence Trustee Council, ALCOA, and General Motors. Both the Thompson Island Youth Camp and the Akwesane Freedom School provided youth with opportunities to learn about their local environment and tribal culture.
