Restoration Activities
Case: IPC, DE

To compensate for injuries to shoreline habitats, birds and recreational losses, IPC has agreed to fund restoration of wetlands in the Peterson Wildlife Refuge (Peterson Refuge), also known as Dravo Marsh. This restoration project is in addition to the cleanup IPC agreed to undertake on impacted wetlands adjacent to their Wilmington facility through the Delaware Hazardous Substance Cleanup Act (HSCA) program.

The restoration opportunity involves restoring tidal hydrology and improving public access to dredge-filled wetlands located in the southwestern corner of Dravo Marsh of the Peterson Wildlife Refuge. This project is part of a multi-million restoration effort in the Refuge, a portion of which was funded by the NOAA Restoration Center through the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation grant program.
