Remedial/Injury Assessment
Case: Halby Chemical, DE

Source: Operations from 1948 until 1998.

Release: Volatile Organic Carbons (VOCs), benzene, Trichloroethylene (TCE), toluene, xylenes, polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), other organics, arsenic, chromium, and lead.

Primary injury: Resource services have been lost due to the migration of contaminants, including metals and organics into tidal wetlands on the Site and likely into the sediment and surface water of the Christina River as well. Finalization of the natural resource damage assessment (NRDA) process, focused just on on-site wetlands and adjacent tidal wetlands, is pending.
