Remedial/Injury Assessment
Case: Dupont Newport, DE

Release: Metals, pigment, and pigment sludges.

Injury: Natural resource services in riverine, riparian, wetland and ground water resources have been lost due to the migration of contaminants, including metals, pigment and pigment sludges, into tidal wetlands on the site as well as sediment and surface waters of the Christina River.

Current Remedial Status: Remedial activities, including cleanup of the North Wetland (2.4 acres), South Wetland (5.4 acres), and three areas (4 acres) in the Christina River, are complete. The site is currently in the 5-Year Review process of the Superfund Program.
