The federal natural resource trustees have reached a settlement agreement with one of the potentially responsible parties at the site for site-related injuries to natural resources in the Bound Brook corridor. The agreement is subject to a 30-day period of public comment and must be approved by a U.S. District Court before it becomes binding on the parties. The natural resource damage settlement will be allocated through a bankruptcy proceeding to the federal natural resource trustees for assessment of natural resource injuries and restoration of lost resources and services. The Trustees will evaluate potential natural resource restoration options and will compile this information in a restoration plan for public review and comment. A summary of the settlement agreement is included in the Department of Justice's press release.
