Case: Cold Spring Harbor Barge, NJ

Within five months of the spill the responsible party agreed to install boom anchor moorings at the mouths of four tributaries in the Arthur Kill. Two of these were placed in New Jersey and the other two in New York. These moorings will be used during future spills to allow quick booming of these tributaries in order to minimize injuries to sensitive marsh habitats. The responsible party also fully reimbursed National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for its assessment costs.
